St Michael’s College in Ballsbridge is undergoing expansion and development to its Junior and Secondary School buildings, as well as the wider campus grounds and facilities. The project comprises a masterplan re-design to update the campus to 21st century educational requirements for academic learning, sport and on-campus activities, for students, teachers and the wider school community. The masterplan re-design of the College Campus included the re-development of the school pitches (completed in phase 1).

The current phase includes extensive redevelopment of the school buildings. The new Junior School accommodation, across a single and two storey extension will include seven new classrooms, art room, GP hall and a science room addressing a sheltered biodiversity garden with a play yard to the roof across the two storey extension. The Senior school proposals will deliver 4 no. full-sized experimental laboratories including preparatory rooms and secure stores. These spaces will have excellent daylight and sufficient space to deliver the core junior and senior post-primary curriculum. Immediately adjacent to these labs, it is proposed to remake what was residual ground and deliver a landscaped student common area and garden addressing the historic gate-house.
