OBFA’s primary objective was to create a simple yet well-considered architectural response that respects the existing townscape while providing much-needed housing. Sensitivity to the surrounding environment was a key driver in the design process, ensuring that the scheme does not impose on the periphery streetscape as it transitions into the open countryside. Located near the local national school and Garda station, the project required careful coordination to balance operational needs with the essential provision of new homes.
The material palette for Mooreville is deliberately restrained, focusing on a minimal yet refined selection of finishes that complement the pitched roof forms and reinforce a sense of individuality within a unified aesthetic. The subtle use of colour enhances the architectural rhythm and fosters a sense of "own-door" living, giving each unit a distinct but cohesive identity.
The scheme stands as a considered addition to the town’s housing stock, embodying a respectful and contextual approach to contemporary residential design—one that enhances its surroundings while quietly asserting its place within the evolving townscape.
