OBFA was appointed in 2018 by Galway County Council to design and deliver a small infill development at Barrack Street, Loughrea. Despite the challenges of construction during the stop/start of Covid-19, the team comprising OBFA, McKenna Consulting Engineers, Healy Consulting Engineers and Carraig Construction QS have been able to deliver a new street frontage of five terraced units, nZEB compliant, with bright and generous spaces. The development was constructed by Jada Projects who have delivered to a high standard of fit and finish. We wish the future residents the very best.

OBFA’s design provides a terrace of five nZEB energy efficient houses, set slightly back from the street to allow residents a small private space, while maintaining the existing street line of Barrack Street, Loughrea. The development features grey-blue window frames and doors; white nap plaster finish and fibre cement roof tiles. Classic proportions and restrained use of materials work together to create an aesthetically pleasing design, that is both familiar and creates a distinct new urban design addition to Loughrea.
